A Lesson in Fat Cells
Cellulite is very common and can affect a person of any size. Cellulite forms when blood flow under the skin is restricted by enlarged fat cells. This causes a fluid buildup which then bloats the fat cells even more. Everyone has fat cells, and thus it can potentially affect everyone. It seems to be related also to genetics, not just poor health habits, and to get rid of it can certainly require some changes in lifestyle.

I like that this post wasn't just a cool natural remedy, but also had the idea that you need a healthy well balanced life style to prevent or fix somethings in life. Also that is a nice looking spoon.

ReplyDeleteEven Cellulean reviews mentioned that the anti-cellulite products wont get rid of cellulite but makes it less noticeable. Aside from exercise, balance diet and lifestyle change, they also recommend dry brushing and scrubbing.
ReplyDeleteDo you mean coffee, as in the liquid, or coffee grounds? I had it stuck in my head it was the grounds, but then rereading I realized you never said "grounds"

ReplyDeleteAbsolutely! I would recommend grapeseed oil. It is a light, silky moisturizer good for all skin types, even sensitive skin.

ReplyDeleteThis information is incorrect. That is not what cellulite is at all. Here is a BIOLOGY lesson. Our skin is attached to the muscles by tiny fibers, the dimpling that is called cellulite is just fat surrounding these fibers and pushing out around them. Think about a sofa that has tufted buttons. The buttons are your muscle fibers that literally attach your skin to your body, and the surrounding area is fat beneath your skin. If you want to reduce the appearance of cellulite the bottom line is to reduce fat. Sometimes a thin and toned person will still have cellulite, but generally speaking it is because there is too much fat deposited in one area. Cellulite products are scientifically a waste of money, but people buy into it because everyone always wants the easy way out. Instead of massaging food (and by the way, your skin cannot absorb these ingredients deep enough to reach any fat tissue, if it could, you would die) into your skin, using the same amount of time to exercise or prepare healthy meals would be much more beneficial.

ReplyDeletei was just curious if the almond oil would be considered sweet or bitter? obviously i know i'm not eating it, but does it make a difference which one? is grapeseed oil a superior oil to almond? just curious =)
ReplyDeleteThe almond oil I use is actually labelled as "sweet almond oil." So I guess sweet. Grapeseed oil and almond oil are both fantastic, each is just better for a different situation. Grapeseed oil is a light, silky moisturizer. It works well on all skin types and is safest for sensitive skin. Almond oil on the other hand is a very nourishing moisturizer so it promotes healthy skin.
DeleteI agree with the anonymous post on February 28th, 2012 because it is conclusive with the Mayo Clinic website. The only reason this appears to work is because scrubbing causes the skin to swell and gives the appearance of smooth skin. If you do a little research you will find that the same is true for the brushing technique. Good luck though...keep up that scrubbing!

ReplyDeleteOne should also live healthy to get rid of fat cells or cellulite. And if you're getting a treatment, you should support it with being healthy. It helps a lot.
